Newcastle United manager Eddie Howe is currently recovering in hospital after being diagnosed with pneumonia. The 47-year-old was admitted on Friday night following illness that caused him to miss a scheduled pre-match press conference. As a result, Howe missed Newcastle’s impressive 4-1 victory over Manchester United on Sunday, which marked the club’s first league double over United since the 1930–31 season.

 

The club has confirmed that Howe is in stable condition, conscious, and receiving expert care. Assistant coaches Jason Tindall and Graeme Jones are set to oversee the team’s upcoming matches against Crystal Palace and Aston Villa. Howe expressed gratitude for the outpouring of support from fans and the football community, praising the NHS staff for their care.

 

Under Howe’s leadership, Newcastle has experienced a significant resurgence.
