Giants Reveal Shocking Decision on Brian Daboll, Joe Schoen…

In a surprising move, the New York Giants have announced that both general manager Joe Schoen and head coach Brian Daboll will remain in their positions for the upcoming 2025 NFL season, despite the team’s dismal 3-14 record in 2024.

The Giants’ 2024 season was marred by a franchise-record 10-game losing streak, with the team losing 11 of their last 12 games. This performance led to widespread speculation about potential changes in leadership. However, team president and co-owner John Mara expressed continued confidence in Schoen and Daboll, stating, “As disappointing as the results of the season have been, [co-owner Steve] Tisch and I remain confident in the process that Joe and Brian have implemented and their vision for our team.”

The 2024 season also saw significant personnel decisions that drew criticism. The departure of star running back Saquon Barkley, who signed with the Philadelphia Eagles and flourished, was a particularly contentious point among fans and analysts. Additionally, the decision to sign quarterback Daniel Jones to a four-year, $160 million contract backfired, as Jones was benched and eventually released due to poor performance.

Analyst Stephen A. Smith did not mince words regarding the Giants’ management, labeling their decisions as “criminal” and criticizing GM Schoen for overpaying Jones while undervaluing Barkley.

Looking ahead, the Giants are focusing on rebuilding their roster. A recent seven-round mock draft suggests the team may select quarterback Shedeur Sanders from Colorado with the No. 3 overall pick, aiming to address the urgent need for a young quarterback to bring long-term stability to the franchise.

Despite the challenges, the Giants’ ownership is placing its trust in Schoen and Daboll to steer the team back to competitiveness. As Mara emphasized, while there is confidence in the current leadership, there is also an expectation for marked improvement in the near future.
