Reds and FanDuel Sports Network Reach Local Telecast and Digital Rights Agreement for 2025

Cincinnati, OH — May 12, 2025 — In a groundbreaking move that could reshape how local Major League Baseball (MLB) games are broadcast and consumed, the Cincinnati Reds have announced a new partnership with FanDuel Sports Network to handle local telecast and digital streaming rights beginning with the 2025 season.

The multi-year agreement will see FanDuel Sports Network become the exclusive local television and digital streaming partner for Reds games, giving fans in the greater Cincinnati area and surrounding regional markets access to all non-nationally televised Reds games. This marks a major shift from the team’s previous arrangements with regional sports networks and cable broadcasters.

“This is an exciting day for the Reds and our loyal fanbase,” said Reds CEO Bob Castellini. “Partnering with FanDuel Sports Network allows us to modernize our media strategy, expand our reach, and deliver more flexible viewing options for our fans.”

The deal comes amid a rapidly evolving sports media landscape, as traditional cable networks face challenges from digital platforms and sports betting companies seek deeper integration with live broadcasts. FanDuel, one of the nation’s leading sports betting and entertainment companies, has been expanding its media footprint over the past two years, and this partnership represents its most ambitious venture into live professional team sports telecasting to date.

Under the terms of the agreement, all Reds games not picked up by national partners like ESPN, FOX, or Apple TV will be available on FanDuel Sports Network’s cable channel as well as its mobile and connected TV platforms. Fans will also be able to stream games live via the official Reds app, which will be powered by FanDuel’s technology and infrastructure.

In addition to live game coverage, the network plans to produce exclusive Reds-focused content, including pre- and post-game shows, weekly features, and player interviews. There will also be integration of FanDuel’s sports betting insights during select broadcasts, though the team confirmed that game integrity and responsible gaming standards will remain a top priority.

“This partnership is about much more than broadcasting baseball games,” said Mike Raffensperger, Chief Commercial Officer at FanDuel. “It’s about creating a dynamic and engaging experience for fans that combines the excitement of Reds baseball with the innovation of our media and technology platforms.”

The move is expected to offer fans greater flexibility, as many viewers increasingly shift toward streaming and away from traditional cable bundles. It may also pave the way for other MLB teams to explore similar direct-to-consumer models amid uncertainty around the future of regional sports networks (RSNs).

FanDuel Sports Network will begin airing Reds spring training games in February 2025, with full regular season coverage to follow in April. More details about pricing, availability, and programming schedules are expected to be released later this year.

For Reds fans, this agreement signals a new era of accessibility and innovation—one that blends tradition with the future of sports broadcasting
