Bruno Guimarães, the Brazilian midfielder for Newcastle United, has recently been at the center of several emotional moments that have deeply affected both him and his fans.
In March 2025, Guimarães was visibly overwhelmed after Newcastle United secured a historic victory over Liverpool in the Carabao Cup final at Wembley Stadium, ending the club’s 70-year trophy drought. Following the final whistle, he broke down in tears on the pitch, expressing his profound connection to the club and its supporters. He stated, “It’s all for these fans. They deserve everything. When I first came here I said I wanted to put my name in history.”
However, not all moments have been celebratory. In January 2023, during a Premier League match against Fulham, Guimarães suffered an ankle injury that forced him to leave the field in tears. More recently, in March 2025, Guimarães received a booking during Brazil’s 2-1 victory over Colombia, resulting in his suspension for the subsequent match against Argentina. He expressed his disappointment on Instagram, stating he was “sad” to miss the important game.
