Former NYR Coach Shares Thoughts on Team’s Performance and Future
In a recent interview, former New York Rangers head coach, David Quinn, opened up about the team’s current trajectory and his thoughts on their performance this season. Quinn, who coached the Rangers from 2018 to 2021, spent much of his time reflecting on the young core of the team, as well as the challenges and growth the team has faced in the post-quinn era.
“The Rangers have a lot of talent, and they’re still very much in a growth phase,” Quinn said. “It’s exciting to watch them develop, and I think there are big things ahead for this group. There’s always a learning curve, especially when you’re working with young players who are still finding their place in the league.”
Quinn, who now serves as the head coach for Boston University, spoke specifically about the development of key players like Artemi Panarin, Mika Zibanejad, and Adam Fox. He emphasized how the core leadership of the Rangers has stepped up in recent seasons and credited the organization for continuing to build a strong foundation.
Despite his praise for the team’s young stars, Quinn also addressed some of the team’s struggles. “There are always growing pains, and there have been moments this season where you can see them trying to figure things out,” he said. “But that’s part of the process. What I can say with certainty is that they have the right pieces in place to contend in the future.”
Looking ahead, Quinn is optimistic about the Rangers’ potential. He pointed out that the team’s mix of veterans and budding stars is a formula for success. “If they can keep progressing and continue building chemistry, the Rangers will be a force to be reckoned with.”
The Rangers will certainly look to build on Quinn’s comments as they continue to shape their identity moving forward.
