The New York Giants held a private meeting with Penn State defensive end/linebacker Abdul Carter in State College after the Nittany Lions’ Pro Day.

Carter, a top prospect in the upcoming NFL Draft, did not participate in on-field drills during the Pro Day as he continues to recover from a shoulder injury sustained during the College Football Playoff.

Despite his absence from workouts, the Giants, who hold the third overall pick, are showing significant interest in the standout defender.

Throughout the 2024 season, Carter showcased exceptional talent, recording 68 tackles, 23.5 for loss, 12 sacks, and two forced fumbles over 16 games. His performance has positioned him as a potential top-five selection in the draft.

In addition to meeting with the Giants, Carter has scheduled visits with other top-picking teams, including the Tennessee Titans and Cleveland Browns.

His agent, Drew Rosenhaus, indicated that Carter might conduct a workout for teams in mid-April to demonstrate his readiness ahead of the draft.

The Giants’ interest in Carter aligns with their strategy to bolster their defensive lineup. As the draft approaches, Carter’s health and performance in any upcoming workouts will likely influence his draft position and the Giants’ decision-making process.
