Sam Rosen Reflects on Legendary Career Ahead of….

Veteran broadcaster Sam Rosen addressed the media today ahead of his highly anticipated retirement celebration. Rosen, the iconic voice of the New York Rangers for nearly four decades, spoke with emotion and gratitude as he reflected on his storied career.

“I’ve been incredibly fortunate to do what I love for so many years,” Rosen said. “Calling Rangers games and being part of the hockey world has been a dream come true. The fans, the players, and the entire organization have meant everything to me.”

 

Rosen, who has been the Rangers’ play-by-play announcer since 1984, will be honored at Madison Square Garden before tonight’s game. The ceremony will feature tributes from former players, colleagues, and fellow broadcasters who have worked alongside him over the years.

When asked about his most memorable moments, Rosen pointed to the Rangers’ 1994 Stanley Cup victory as the pinnacle of his career. “’This one will last a lifetime’—those words still give me chills,” he said, recalling his famous call when the Rangers ended their 54-year championship drought.

 

Despite retiring from the booth, Rosen assured fans he will remain involved in the hockey world. “I won’t be going too far. Hockey is in my blood,” he said with a smile.
