Mauricio Pochettino Expresses Desire to Return to Tottenham in Latest Interview
Mauricio Pochettino has once again reiterated his deep desire to return to Tottenham Hotspur, stating in a recent interview that he would love the opportunity to manage the club again. The Argentine coach, who led Spurs to their first-ever UEFA Champions League final in 2019, has been out of management since his departure from Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) in 2022.
Pochettino, who had a highly successful spell at Tottenham between 2014 and 2019, was praised for his ability to develop young talent and instill an attacking, dynamic style of play. Under his guidance, Spurs reached the pinnacle of European football, only to fall short against Liverpool in the final. Despite his successes, Pochettino was controversially dismissed in November 2019, with the club struggling in the Premier League at the time.
Since his departure, Tottenham has seen a series of managerial changes, with Antonio Conte, Nuno Espírito Santo, and now Ange Postecoglou taking the reins. However, Pochettino’s connection with the Spurs fanbase remains strong, and his name has often been mentioned as a potential return to the North London club.
In the interview, Pochettino described Tottenham as a “special place” and emphasized how much he enjoyed working there. “Tottenham is in my heart, and I would love to come back. The journey I had with the club was incredible, and I have nothing but positive memories of my time there,” he said.
Although Postecoglou is currently in charge and the club is focused on the future, Pochettino’s words will undoubtedly reignite speculation surrounding his potential return. Whether or not he will be welcomed back remains to be seen, but his continued affection for Tottenham is clear.
