**Luis Arraez Retirement Letter**
October 1, 2024
To my fans, teammates, and the game of baseball,
It is with a heavy heart that I announce my retirement from professional baseball due to a career-ending injury. This decision comes after much reflection and consideration, as I have dedicated my life to this sport and have cherished every moment on the field.
From my early days playing baseball in Venezuela to my journey through the minor leagues and into the major leagues, I have experienced the thrill of competing at the highest level. The memories of hitting my first home run, celebrating victories with my teammates, and sharing the field with some of the greatest players will stay with me forever. I am incredibly grateful for the support I have received from my family, friends, coaches, and fans throughout my career. Your encouragement has been a constant source of strength.
This injury has forced me to confront the reality that my playing days are over. Although this is not how I envisioned my career ending, I take solace in the impact I’ve made and the relationships I’ve built along the way. Baseball has taught me invaluable lessons about perseverance, teamwork, and humility, and I will carry those lessons with me in the next chapter of my life.
As I step away from the game, I remain committed to giving back to the sport that has given me so much. I hope to inspire young players and share the love of baseball that has shaped my life. I look forward to new opportunities and challenges ahead, while cherishing the memories of my time on the field.
Thank you for your unwavering support and for being part of my journey. Though I may be leaving the game, my love for baseball will never fade.
Sincerely,
Luis Arraez
