Breaking News: Nebraska Doubles Up for Football and Volleyball Fan Days
Lincoln, NE – September 23, 2023 – In an exciting move to engage fans and celebrate school spirit, the University of Nebraska has announced its inaugural dual Fan Day event for both the Cornhusker football and volleyball teams. Set to take place on Saturday, October 7, the event promises to be a thrilling day of activities, autographs, and community engagement.
Fans will have the opportunity to interact with their favorite players and coaches from both teams, enhancing the camaraderie between athletes and supporters. The event will kick off at 11 AM at Memorial Stadium, where fans can participate in a variety of festivities including live music, games, and food trucks showcasing local cuisine.
Football and Volleyball Events:
- Football: The Cornhuskers will hold a practice session, allowing fans to catch a glimpse of the team as they prepare for their upcoming matchup against the Ohio State Buckeyes. Fans will also have the chance to take part in Q&A sessions with head coach Matt Rhule and selected players.
- Volleyball: Concurrently, the Nebraska volleyball team will host a scrimmage, offering an exciting preview of their season. Head coach John Cook will lead a discussion on the team’s strategy and expectations for the year, followed by autograph sessions with the players.
Community Involvement:
In addition to the sports action, the event will include local vendors and community organizations, creating a festival atmosphere. Activities for kids, including face painting and interactive sports challenges, will be available throughout the day.
Nebraska Athletics is encouraging fans to wear their red and white colors to show support for both teams.
